Dynamic modelling, Design and experimental analysis of closed loop controlled Zeta Converter using OPAL-RT

A zeta converter is a fourth-order DC-DC converter that may operate in either step-up or step-down mode. It consists of two inductors and two capacitors. In this study, a Zeta converter is dynamically modelled, controlled, and experimentally validated. Its transfer functions have been derived using the State-Space Averaging. The DPSO optimised PI controller is made to manage the output voltage based on the deduced control-to-output transfer function. The results show good steady state and load shift performance of the converter. Using the MATLAB environment, the open loop and closed loop Zeta converter’s performance and stability are analysed. The experimental validation is done in addition to the performance validation using OPAL RT.
