Dual Band Meander Line Antenna for 5G and WLAN Application

In order to support 5G wireless WLAN applications, this study offers a Meander Line Antenna (MLA) design for dual-frequency operating at 2.4GHz and 5GHz.The proposed antenna is designed on an FR4 substrate withdimensions of 30 x 30 x 1.6mm

. The MLA design overcomes the limited range of 2.4 GHz connections by utilizing the faster speeds offered by the 5 GHz frequency. Different methodologies like introducing parasitic element, defected ground structure (DGS) is used to achieve the required. The proposed antenna's performance is examinedin terms of gain, radiation pattern, and return loss. The measured return loss at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz is found to be -34.88 and -12.56, respectively, meeting the requirements of 5G applications with maximum gain of 3.47 dB.
