Design and Realization of Fractional-order VM Biquad Filter using CFOA

This paper presents the active realization of a voltage mode fractional-order biquad filter which is capable of generating inverting low-pass, non-inverting band-pass along with a high-pass response. This filter has been realized using 3 current feedback operational amplifiers, 4 resistors and two fractional-capacitors of order α. The transfer function of the system is derived for all three responses. The stability of the suggested circuit is analyzed by employing the pole-zero plot in W-plane. The proposed circuit offers the independent frequency control feature by varying the order α. The average power consumption is calculated to be 0.22mW. The proposed circuit is simulated for various values of α using MATLAB and the transistor level simulation is carried out in LTSpice software using 180nm CMOS technology.
