An All-Photonics Network Management System

With the commercialization of digital coherent transmission systems, optical transport technologies have been disaggregated for commercially available. This evolution has accelerated the downsizing, power saving, and control interface commonality of transmission systems, enabling faster and more flexible allocation of networks. In this paper, we proposed an external integrated management and orchestration system to facilitate interoperability among vendors in the open, partially disaggregated optical network. Our proposed system was successfully deployed as a Proof of Concept in Chunghwa Telecom under multi-environments, demonstrating the feasibility of achieving interoperability among vendors in the open all-photonic network.
