Research on Fog Computing Offloading Mechanism for VANETs

With the rapid development of the Internet and the explosive growth of automotive applications, the existing in-vehicle network cannot meet the hardware and delay requirements of new in-vehicle applications. This paper introduces fog computing and computing offloading, using mobile networks to solve the problem of computing resource sharing, computing technology to solve network communication problems, and offloading technology to enable efficient operation of in-vehicle applications. The main research work and innovation of this paper is to design a hierarchical distributed vehicle fog computing architecture based on cooperation between nodes. Secondly, a cooperative vehicle network model is proposed. Finally, the proposed structure is used to do a simulation experiment for the offloading task. Compared with other three offloading strategies, the results show that the unloading strategy can reduce the unloading delay.
