Comparative Analysis of Thermal Losses in NH Fuses Among Various Products in the Indonesian Market

NH Fuse is one of the main components in PLN’s Low Voltage Connection Panel (PHB-TR). In the PLN electrical system, the NH Fuse is generally installed on the PHB-TR as a safeguard against overloading or overcurrent disturbances. However, the NH Fuse also contributes losses to the electrical system. Electricity utility companies need to reduce network losses, one of which is by selecting components with low losses. In this paper, a comparison of the losses of various brands of NH fuse will be presented using a simple test using nominal current injection (In). Several operating points below the nominal current were also observed to determine the characteristics of losses to increased loading because, in real installations on Low Voltage Sharing Devices (PHB-TR), the NH Fuse is often operated at a load below its nominal current.
