A Rotatable Deployable Structure Based on Planar Double-Chain Mechanism

This paper describes the utilization of deployable structures in aerospace, civil engineering, origami and robot manufacturing. Then introduces the basic geometric principles and mathematical methods of deployable structures. Finally, an analogical design is made based on the double-chain mechanism. The angulated scissor-like elements are combined with four joints elements to form a rotatable open-close 2D deployable mechanism, followed by some basic mathematical analysis.
