Electromagnetic Design and Simulation Analysis of the Doubly Fed Wind Turbine with Stator Double Winding

In this paper, the structure of a new doubly fed wind turbine with stator double winding (DFTSDW) is studied, the working principle of its power generation system is analyzed, and two kinds of excitation starting schemes suitable for DFTSDW are proposed. The finite element method is used to build the magnetic field model of the turbine, and the turbine is modelled in the sub-synchronous and super-synchronous states while considering variable speed constant frequency, phase change and load. It is verified that the stator main winding of the turbine can output stable power to the grid under different wind speeds, and the stator auxiliary winding has the ability to provide the power support for the PWM converter. The feasibility of the design principle of a DFIG-based dual stator-winding wind turbine is proved, which has a broad application prospect.
