Active Distribution Network Energy Storage Layout Planning Based on Network Loss Minimization

A bi-level planning method for active distribution network (ADN) energy storage layout based on network loss minimization is proposed. Construct a bilevel programming model for ADN, where the upper-level model determines this initial installation location and output of distributed power sources based on minimizing total costs, but the lower-level(L-L) model determines the layout planning of the energy storage system(ESS) based on minimizing network losses. Using an improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO) algorithm to optimize and solve the upper-layer(U-P), simplifying the model through second-order cone optimization in the lower layer, and iteratively solving the model in the upper and lower layers. Stem from the IEEE33 node example, the proposed method was validated and analyzed, indicating that this planning method can reduce costs and network losses.
