A Study on Comprehensive Decision-Making of Pumped Storage in Capacity Planning with System Dynamics

Pumped storage power stations (PSPS) are conducive to achieving China's “dual carbon” goal. A comprehensive decision-making method of PSPS in capacity planning based on system dynamics (SD) is proposed. Firstly, based on the optimal scheduling model of wind-thermal-pumped storage hybrid system, a comprehensive evaluation index system covering economic, technical, and ecological aspects is constructed. Secondly, a comprehensive evaluation model based on SD is established considering the coupling relationship among the indexes, and entropy weight method (EWM) is adopted to determine the index weights. Finally, the analysis of the comparative testing in a modified IEEE 30-bus system verifies that the proposed method is feasible and effective. Furthermore, the test results show that the importance degree of different indexes has different impacts on the optimal decision results, which provides a reference for the capacity planning problem of PSPS in power systems containing renewable energy sources.
