Demand Response Mechanism for Aggregated Temperature-Controlled Loads

This paper analyzes the operational mechanism of thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) participating in demand response through an electric-thermal parameter model. It in-vestigates the impact of external environments on a group of TCLs' demand response capability, assuming that users have signed contracts to provide load reduction services when needed in demand response projects. Moreover, for demand response program management, each participating home is equipped with endpoint controllers that enable customers to set parameters for deviation from the target. When power reduction is required, the control center sends a signal to each participating terminal controller. The study's findings provide insights into effectively managing TCLs in demand response programs, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable power grid.
