Improved Particle Swarm and Bacterial Foraging MPPT Algorithm Applied to Photovoltaic Street Lights

This paper proposes an MPPT optimization control algorithm that addresses the issue of multiple peaks in the photovoltaic P-V curve caused by changes in the external environment, resulting in a decrease in photoelectric conversion efficiency. The algorithm is based on a fusion of an improved particle swarm and bacterial foraging algorithm. After analyzing the principle of the independent algorithm, it has been concluded that the fusion of the improved particle swarm and bacterial foraging algorithms can address the issue of the particle swarm algorithm easily falling into local extremum during optimization and enhance its global search ability. This paper builds a simulation model of particle swarm optimization and fusion optimization algorithms using Matlab/Simulink, and verifies the simulation results through analysis, proving the feasibility of the studied algorithm.
