Speed Control Strategy for DTP-PMSM Based on Leading Angle Flux-Weakening

With the advancements in power electronics technology and motor control theory, multi-phase motors are now more prominent due to their higher power density and efficiency. Among these motors, dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (DTP-PMSM) have substantial potential for applications in wind power generation, electric vehicles, and aerospace due to their high efficiency and reliability. The paper starts by establishing a mathematical model for DTP-PMSM, considering the effects of motor torque and speed based on the structural characteristics of the motor. It also investigates the principle of weak field in the leading angle. The vector control method, specifically segmented vector control, is chosen for controlling the DTP-PMSM. Below the base speed, the id=0 control method is utilized, while above the base speed overrun angle, the regulator exits saturation in the weak magnetic loop and enters the weak magnetic operating area. A speed acceleration strategy is subsequently proposed employing a dual vector six-phase motor space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique by redistributing the current on the d-axis and q-axis. To validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations are conducted in MATLAB/Simulink.
