Sliding Mode-Based Active Disturbance Rejection Control of Doubly Salient PM Generator-Based Tidal Stream Turbine

A low-speed high torque Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet Generator (DSPMG), in this paper, is adopted for renewable energy generation. Nevertheless, this machine has strong nonlinearity and coupling, which lead to a large torque ripple. Therefore, to reduce the torque ripple and improve the speed response, and makes the system stably. Sliding Mode -based Active Disturbance Rejection Control (SM-ADRC) and Iterative Learning Control (ILC) are proposed for speed and current loop of this system respectively. According to the simulation results, the proposed SM-ADRC + ILC strategy has the best speed response and lowest torque ripples, and strong robustness.
