Current Status and Issues of DWPT and ERS in Japan

Recent study and development of DWPT and ERS in Japan are reviewed. Current evaluation issues and future challenges for social implementation are introduced. Important safety issue utilizing control and communication is proposed for international standard. This paper also reviews history and recent trend of Static WPT and Electric Road System(ERS) based on DWPT in Japan. Review current status and activity from Japan of standardization and regulatory such as ISO, IEC,SAE,ITU and CISPR. Report on ongoing challenge plan in Japan using test course for innovative ERS featuring Magnetic or Capacitive Coupling DWPT including at Fiji-Yoshida city is introduced. They will contribute carbon free smart mobility society in the future expected 2050 in Japan. It will also introduced the plan of Fujisan railway which was reported by Fujisan railway study committee at Feb.2021. The draft plan of Fujisan railway with no catenary LRT (expected by using DWPT) are overviewed.
