Investigating digital examinations through forensic analysis

During the Covid-19 pandemic, academic institutions rapidly transitioned to online assessments, which largely operated under an unsupervised model that relied on students to uphold academic integrity. However, this trust-based approach proved ineffective, as academic institutions experienced a significant rise in cheating incidents. This paper is an experience report presenting our first-hand observations of cheating behaviors and describes a tool we developed to detect potential cheating in online assessments.
