Improving interoperability by business process analysis

Interoperability assessment is most often based on the definition of maturity models of involved systems taken individually or together. Research on interoperability has led to the development of technical solutions based on APIs that now allow applications to communicate with each other. However, the technical solutions only integrate the actors whose activities have been implemented at the software level. Not all activities of the business process are considered, so one can assume that the technical solutions partially solve the interoperability problem. The purpose of this study is to propose a methodology for assessing interoperability based on business activity.
