Practice of Technical Debt Management with TETRA™ in Terms of Open-Source Project Assessment

The paper examines the possibilities of TETRA™ as a means of technical debt management in terms of open-source project assessment. The authors share the methodology, advantages, and limitations of TETRA™. The paper also covers the theoretical basis of the technical debt and the importance of its timely assessment and management illustrated by the assessment of the open-source project, namely the Odoo ERP System. The authors assess the technical debt of the Odoo ERP system through five critical dimensions, including Source Code Quality; Usability, UI & Documentation; Security; Performance; and Open-Source Code Use. Summary results of the Odoo system assessment are provided in the aggregated table.
