Sail IoT Network – SIN

each year the Portuguese Navy Research Center (CINAV) conducts an exercise, named Robotics Exercise (REX) involving Navy personnel and researchers from universities and private companies. The main aim of this exercise is to promote interaction between end-users (Navy personnel) and researchers, in an attempt to bridge the gap between these two communities.This paper reports result of communication schemes for obtaining better performance on distance around sea level applications suitable for robotic sail applications, low cost and energy sustainable, and the measurement of the performance of a small water-flow sensor, designed for robotic sail applications.REX exercises are very important due to the unique conditions of the shore and offshore environment available, and the resources offered to perform tests and data gathering, at same time that allows for healthy exchange of ideas and experiences between teams that do not usually work together.
