Dust-Acoustic Solitary Waves in an Electron-Depleted Nonthermal Magnetized Plasma

A three-component electron-depleted magnetized plasma containing positive dust, negative dust, and kappa nonthermal ions is considered, and the linear and nonlinear properties of dust-acoustic waves (DAWs) are analyzed. A nonlinear Zakharov–Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived by applying the reductive perturbation method, and the solitary wave solution of the ZK equation is obtained to investigate the characteristics of dust-acoustic solitary waves (DASWs). The significant impacts of the plasma parameters [such as ion-to-negative dust density ratio (
$\mu $
), nonthermal parameter (
$\kappa $
), external magnetic field (expressed via
$\Omega $
), adiabatic index (
$\gamma $
), and obliqueness angle (
$\delta $
)] on DASWs are observed, and the polarity of DASWs is predicted to change due to the variation of ion-to-negative dust density ratio, that is, both the positive and negative polarity solitary structures may form due to the variation of the ion-to-negative dust density ratio. The existence of periodic and solitary wave solutions is also analyzed via the bifurcation analysis. The results that are investigated in the present study could be beneficial in explaining the propagation nature of low-frequency nonlinear structures in astrophysical plasma environments (viz., Saturn’s F-ring, the magnetosphere of Jupiter, upper mesosphere, cometary tail, etc.) and laboratory experiments where electron-depleted magnetized dusty plasma exists.
