A Novel Approach for Identification and Donation of Surplus Food using Machine Learning-based Replate App

The focus of this study is a specialized program created to precisely address the problem of leftover food donations from gatherings and hostels, among other sources. Given the prevalence of landfills, trash bins, and cluttered city streets, the issue of food loss is especially concerning in highly populated nations like India. Weddings, canteens, restaurants, social gatherings, and family events are just a few of the events that greatly contribute to the large amount of food that is wasted. The problem of food waste reflects more than just current economic hardships and environmental damage. In addition to food waste, the quick changes in lifestyle and high living standards have also led to waste of clothing and other products. It is essential to transfer these priceless resources to humanitarian organizations like old age homes and orphans to combat this, assuring their usage rather than waste. An internet-based Android application that acts as a platform to promote effective food distribution is presented as a potential approach to achieving this goal.
