Innocuous Design of Battery Management Systems For Electric Vehicles

The usage of battery management systems (BMS) keeps batteries secure, dependable, and accelerates senility without causing damage. Different monitoring approaches are employed to maintain the battery's level of charge, including voltages, current, and ambient temperatures. Numerous analog/digital sensors and micro-controllers are employed for analysis purpose. This experiment examines a battery's maximum capacity in Indian settings as well as its level of charge, healthiness, and lifespan. This Prototype ensures safe charging, discharging and proper cell optimization, thus providing a secure riding experience for the people and the society. By adding safety features to the existing Battery Management System, this study intends to develop a much safer and efficient prototype. The proposed prototype utilizes a Blynk application to connect with the micro-controller, which provides details about the current status, faults and other errors that occur in the BMS. Here, lithium ferrous phosphate (LiFePo4) battery is used instead of lithiumion battery. The main reason for this is, lithium ion batteries may overheat and even catch fire. This is the major factor that pushed to select the lithium ferrous phosphate batteries over lithium ion batteries. Also, there are some more factors. That is, lithium ferrous phosphate batteries are more efficient compared to lithium ion batteries and also during the chemical reaction, which takes place in the cells lithium ferrous phosphate batteries are bit safer when compared to lithium ion. The DHT 11 sensor connected outside the system collects the data from the outside temperature and give the signals to the microcontroller and this microcontroller give signals to the thermo-electric peltier module. This thermoelectric peltier module will act according to the temperature of the outside atmosphere. Because of this, the module is all-around and can focus on a variety of tasks due to the use of Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth allows the user to rapidly connect to the phone or broadcast the reduced energy transmissions for target identification.
