Among all the crimes recorded in country, crimes against the safety and well-being of women remain uncontrolled. The crime rates against women have increased significantly over the period. Crimes against women have been rising exponentially for the past few decades. Women have been thinking twice before stepping out of their homes due to this and are drowned in fear and worry because of this. To overcome this fear and have a way to defend them and protect themselves in unfortunate situations, several safety devices have been invented. But these devices are not so useful when take in the fact that might not be able to use them as the attackers might take them away or if the user is handcuffed. The safety sandals are a foolproof IOT device that will be accessible for the wearer even if are handcuffed. The safety sandals consist of a GSM module, a GPS module, and a panic button and will be controlled by using an Arduino nano. The device works in such a way that when the wearer presses the panic button the wearer’s GPS coordinates and potentially other information such as the wearer’s identity and description of the situation designated to emergency contacts and local authorities. The GSM module in the device is used for sending a message to emergency contacts and the authority. The location of the wearer incorporate to the message forward by the module called GPS. The panic button will be used to activate the Arduino nano board which controls the GSM module and GPS module. Safety devices available already do not prove to be useful when met with a dire situation in real-time as their accessibility rate is inadequate. The Safety Sandals are an improved device as it provides a fast accessible measure to safeguard the wearer.
