An All-Metal Wide-Band High-Gain Leaky-Wave Antenna with Wide Scanning Range

An all-metal wide-band high-gain leaky-wave antenna (LWA) with wide scanning range is presented in this article. A rectangular waveguide loaded with two rows of glidesymmetry serrated stubs is introduced as the basic transmission structure to realize a lossless and wideband transmission. In addition, totally 38 glide-symmetry longitudinal slots arranged on top of the waveguide is adopted as the radiated elements. The developed leaky-wave antenna can operate from 23 to 43 GHz with a 60.6% bandwidth, and can realize a scanning range of
$80^{\circ}$
between
$-57^{\circ}$
and
$23^{\circ}$
with a peak gain of 20 dBi at 32 GHz.
