A BiGRU-based Interference Mitigation Method for Automotive Millimeter-Wave Radar

The millimeter-wave radar has become an important sensor for environmental awareness in the field of autonomous driving. With the increasing number of radar-equipped vehicles in dense traffic environments, the problem of mutual interference is inevitable. In this paper, we propose an automotive millimeter-wave radar interference mitigation method based on bidirectional gate recurrent unit (BiGRU) with residual connection. The proposed method could eliminate the interference in the time domain and improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the signal. Compared with wavelet de noising and normal RNNs, our method shows better performance, which demonstrate the potential of the residual-BiGRU-based model in interference mitigation.
