A Study on GPR Technique for Fine Characterization of Shallow Strata Structure in Lake Environment

The investigation of Baiyangdian lake bottom strata has very important practical significance for the Baiyangdian ecological geological survey, lake bottom ecological dredging and wetland ecological protection. In order to systematically explore the stratigraphic structure of the Baiyangdian Lake bottom, provide accurate target area data support for the drilling survey, and achieve a complete description of the lake bottom strata from the regional scale, this paper innovates the use range of ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and uses the ship-borne method to carry out the lake bottom strata exploration through the water body. Through analyzing the technical difficulties of GPR exploration for the bottom structure of Baiyangdian Lake, the characteristics of electromagnetic wave propagation in underwater exploration and the geophysical response conditions of the original formation at the bottom of the lake are analyzed in both cases with sediment, and a simplified structure model of lake bottom is established, which is composed of lake water+silt layer+original formation at the bottom of the lake. This research has realized the technical integration of modeling and analysis of lake bottom stratum structure, optimization of antenna exploration mode, and optimization of data processing process. This technical achievement provides the basic basis for the three-dimensional geological modeling of groundwater and surface water in Baiyangdian District, provides the target area support for the drilling and exploration of the lake bottom strata, and effectively promotes the construction of the water-land integrated exploration technology and method system in Baiyangdian Wetland.
