An Improved SBR-PTD Method for EM Scattering from Moving Target

This paper presents an improved hybrid method of shooting and bouncing ray (SBR) physical and theory of diffraction (PTD) method for the analysis of electromagnetic (EM) scattering from the moving target. Initially, geodetic coordinate system (GCS), the local coordinate system (LCS) of target, and projection coordinate system (PCS) are established. And the octree is built based on the LCS. Secondly, the target is converted to the PCS. The scanning line algorithm is employed for accelerating shadow elimination. Then, rays are transformed from GCS to the LCS of the target. The ray-marching method based on Octree is utilized to speed up the high-order ray tracing. Finally, the radar cross section (RCS) of our method is compared with those of the MLFMM and traditional SBR. The comparison demonstrates the efficiency of the presented method in the scattering analysis of the moving target.
