mode converter with two out-phase input coupling apertures is presented in this paper. An E-plane T-junction power divider is introduced to provide two equal-amplitude and out-phase input signals to excite the overmoded waveguide. The theoretical analysis of the equivalent magnetic current sources for two input coupling apertures is adopted to study the basic mode converting structure. The methods to suppress the competing TE
20
mode are presented and discussed. Simulation results having considered the conductor loss show that the mode converter obtains a 1 dB transmission bandwidth of 45.8 GHz, in which the reflection is lower than −13 dB and the maximum mode purity is up to 99.97%.
