Triangular Trihedral Corner Reflflflector Simulation and Measurement for RCS Calibration

In this work, we present simulation and measurement of trihedral corner reflector (TCR) in X-band for RCS calibration. TCR has the potential of high RCS due to triple reflection over wider angular coverage. TCR is designed and simulated in 3D EM solver for RCS of 7-8dBsm in X-band. A metallic TCR is fabricated and a simple set-up to measure the RCS of TCR is presented in this paper. The result shows good agreement with the simulation. This TCR calibrator is used as standard for calibration when measuring RCS of large targets such as ships.
