The Influences Of NFC Technology Adoption on Visitor’s Attitude and Intention To Visit Museum: A Study Of Generation Z

A museum is a place where there are many collections of historical objects. These historical objects have essential information in them. In general, the information contained in these objects still uses the manual method, namely, archives which makes the visitors disinterested and quickly bored when visiting a museum. Object recognition using Near Field Communication on Android and iOS smartphones and Radio Frequency Identification tags can solve this problem. In this study, Generation Z participants (those between the ages of 11 and 28) were surveyed through a questionnaire using a quantitative research approach. We apply Structural Equation Model (SEM) and SmartPLS to examine the data for this. This research was conducted to determine whether Generation Z received technology near Field Communication and whether the visitor will or intends to visit the museum. The results of this study indicate that Generation Z accepts the adoption of NFC technology if implemented in museums, and NFC technology has a positive and significant effect on interest in visiting.
