A Novel Islanding Detection Method Based on a Hybrid Algorithm in DC Microgrids

This paper proposes a new fast and reliable technique for detecting islanding in DC power systems. This approach involves injecting a periodic disturbance into the DC network at specific intervals. Detectors at each microgrid DC link monitor the system parameters. A real-time signal processing analyzer makes the decision to trip circuit breakers in the event of islanding conditions. The proposed technique is easy to implement and does not require a separate communication infrastructure. Simulation results confirm that the method meets the IEEE 1547 Standard, and demonstrates the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed scheme.
