Adaptive Sliding Mode Controller for Aero-engine Distributed Control System with Short Time Delay

Different from the traditional centralized control system of aero-engine, distributed control system stands out for its advantages such as lower weight, higher system flexibility and better performance. But the sharing of communication network also brings about problems, among which time delay serves the most common one. To overcome the negative effect of time delay, a sliding mode controller is designed and RBF neural network is introduced to estimate disturbances. The discrete model of aero-engine distributed control system is first established. Then, a sliding mode controller based on power rate reaching law has been designed. Then to realize the lively estimation of disturbance, RBF neural network is applied for the system. Simulation results proves the effectiveness of the designed controller.
