Analysis of Electrostatic Discharge Waveforms from High-Voltage Solar Arrays

High-voltage solar cell arrays in space plasma environment have serious surface discharge risks. In order to effectively reduce the risk of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) of solar arrays in orbit, ESD tests need to be complemented on solar cell samples on ground to verify the design status. In this paper, the characteristics of the solar cell array ESD and the solar array electrostatic discharge signal is simulated. A typical electrostatic discharge test is also carried out.
