Optimal BG Regulation in TIDM Patient Based on Adaptive Control Algorithm

This article describes the design of Remora Optimization-PID (RO-PID) controller to infuse ideal insulin doses through an Artificial Pancreas (AP) to control blood glucose levels in TIDM patients. Using the Remora Optimization Technique (ROA), which adjusts controller gains to improve the BG control of the proposed patient model. This classic controller with ROA is designed to improve patient performance and robustness. Nonlinearities present in the patient model pose problems for glycemic control. Using an AP-based ROA efficiently overcomes the nonlinearity of patient models and maintains blood glucose levels in the glycemic range (70–120 mg/dL). Using the suggested patient model with RO-PID is analyzed for accuracy, stability, robustness, noise reduction and improved ability to handle uncertainty. A comparative study of results from different control techniques reveals the reasons for the advanced control performance of the proposed approach.
