A Novel Current Fed Multi-Output DC-DC Converter for High Gain Applications

Alternative energy sources like fuel cells, PV cells generate low output voltage which requires high voltage gain converter to convert low voltage to high voltage and power up the loads. This paper aims in developing a novel current-fed DC-DC converter which is able to supply three isolated output DC voltages with high gain of 6. The proposed converter uses a flyback choke to reduce the voltage spike across the semiconductor switches during turn OFF. The voltage doubler configuration at the load end improves the voltage gain by two times. Also, the converter is integrated with a multi-level Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter and had achieved output AC voltage THD of less than 5%.
