Breaking Down Communication Barriers: Real-Time Sign Language Recognition Using CNN & Flask-Based API

The involvement of an interpreter is sometimes necessary when attempting to communicate with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing. Real-time recognition of sign language system is presented that use image processing & CNN to decode gestures in video footage. To facilitate communication between the hearing and non-hearing handicapped, our technology is built to translate sign language motions into text and voice. Furthermore, a Flaskbased API is provided that can be distributed to cloud computing, making our solution widely available and straightforward to implement. Our results suggest that compared to other alternatives, our method is more accurate and more adaptable, making it a potentially useful tool for removing communication obstacles.
