SIMES - Smart Integrated Modular Energy System for DC Microgrids with Energy Storages

This work presents the concept of a direct current microgrid, which effectively integrates energy sources, loads and storage devices within a territorially or physically separated area of operation. The presented idea requires the development of dedicated bidirectional AC/DC and DC/DC converters operated in parallel with the energy management system in the microgrid, which will allow the implementation of main strategies of microgrid management, such as maximizing energy self-consumption, balancing or power compensation in the AC power system, increasing the reliability of energy supply to sensitive / priority loads
