A Novel 5th order high selective filtering isolator with static and time-modulated resonators

In this paper, a novel lumped element 5
^th
order non-reciprocal bandpass filter is presented with improved selectivity. This filter combines outer time-invariant and inner time-modulated resonators to generate a non-reciprocal filering isolation using the concept of spatio-temporal modulation. Off late, this concept has grabbed attention, where the typical operation relies on the time-modulation of space separated resonators using sinusoidal signals with an incremental phase shift. The simulated results reveal a nonreciprocal response within the passband bandwith with a steep selectivity owing to the higher order of the filter. This configuration paves the pathway for the design of various higher order filtering isolators.
