A Single Layered High Gain and Broadband Antenna with H-Shaped Patch and Meta Patches for 5GHz Wi-Fi Applications

The broadband linearly polarized antenna with high gain in single layered substrate is designed using H shaped patch with meta patches and uniform aperture CPW feed. Initially, the slot antenna is designed with bi-directional radiation. The H shaped patch is placed on another side of slot to design unidirectional pattern with an impedance bandwidth of 7% (5.21-5.59GHz) and the gain of antenna is 7.5-7.7 dBi. The meta patches are added around the H shaped patch to increase the gain and impedance bandwidth simultaneously. The above-mentioned antenna achieved an impedance bandwidth of 34.1% (4.50-6.35GHz) and gain of antenna 10-11.3dB.
