Research on Implementation Scheme of Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging System

This paper presents the optimization and research of an efficient wireless charging system for electric vehicle(EV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles(PHEV). The system includes a magnetic coupler, a compensation network and an electromagnetic shielding structure. In the system, the DD coil is used as a magnetic coupler. The LCL-S compensation network is used for compensation, and the aluminum structure is used for electromagnetic shielding. Due to the unconventional magnetic flux distribution of the system, a three-dimensional finite element method is employed for analysis and optimization. The optimal parameters are obtained through joint simulation using circuit simulation software. A prototype wireless charging system for EV has been developed, and has achieved an energy transfer efficiency of 90.94% in a 50mm air gap.
