Experimental Research on Transient Thermal Performance of Solid-Liquid Phase Change Material Filled Motor Housing

When the robot joint torque motor starts, stops, accelerates, decelerates or overloads, it will lead to excessive motor current and excessive structural temperature of various parts of the motor. In order to study the restraining effect of phase change materials on the temperature rise of robot joint torque motor under different working conditions, the temperature variation law of motor casing and winding structure with time was tested by experimental methods, and the experimental results were analyzed. The results show that the phase change material can suppress the transient temperature rise of each part of the robot joint torque motor.
