A Finite-Time Algorithm for Dynamic Economic Dispatch Problem

The economic dispatch problem is an important problem in power system, which aims to ensure the optimal power output allocation of generation units and satisfy the constraints for its economic operation. The dynamic dispatch problem, where the generation cost functions and the demands are time-varying, is investigated in this paper. We present a dynamic economic dispatch algorithm that can converge in finite time. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is proved by Lyapunov stability theory, and finally the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by numerical simulations. The simulation results show that the algorithm can track the optimal solution of active power in finite time.
