Speed Control of Fractional-Order PMSM Model Based on Global Sliding Mode Controller

It is shown that the fractional-order model can describe the actual characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) more accurately than the integer order one. The speed control of fractional-order PMSM is considered in this paper. A fractional sliding mode surface is designed, based on which a global fractional sliding mode control method is proposed to realize the speed control of PMSM and suppress the influence of parameter uncertainty and disturbance. The Lyapunov stability method for fractional-order systems is used to prove the global stability of the state of the controlled system. The proposed control strategy is compared with the traditional PID control algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed control strategy has better anti-interference ability and smaller overshoot. Simulation results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the designed controller.
