Generalized Parameter Estimation Method for HTR-PM Load Changes

This paper concerns real-time optimization (RTO) for the nuclear power plant with multiple modular High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Pebble-bed Module (HTR - PM) for safety. Due to the unavailability of a sufficiently accurate HTR - PM mathematical model, there is a mismatch between the model and the plant, leading to the fact that the optimal operation solved by the model optimization problem does not necessarily converge to the optimal operation of the plant. Then, to compensate for the mismatch, this paper uses Generalized Parameter Estimation (GPE) for HTR-PM load change operation optimization. Finally, the optimization results of GPE are compared with two other representative RTO algorithms, MAy and ITS, to illustrate the strength of GPE.
