Research on Drum Water Level Control of Marine Auxiliary Boiler Based on GA-APSO Algorithm

Aiming at the nonlinearity and large inertia of the drum water level system of marine auxiliary boilers, a controller based on genetic algorithm to optimize the asynchronous particle swarm optimization algorithm (GA-APSO) is designed. Firstly, a mathematical model is established based on the dynamic characteristics of steam drum water level under feed water flow rate and steam flow. Secondly, the asynchronous particle swarm optimization algorithm is improved by applying the crossover operator and mutation method from genetic algorithm, resulting in optimized PID controller parameters. Finally, the GA-APSO algorithm is compared and verified by simulation against the Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) algorithm and the Genetic Algorithm-based Particle Swarm Optimization (GA-PSO) algorithm. Simulation results show that the GA-APSO algorithm effectively improves the performance index of the system, making it a feasible and effective method to optimize the control of the drum water level system.
