IEC61850-Based Communication Layer Modeling for Power Routers with the Plug-and-Play Function

As the interaction core of the energy internet, the power router can achieve fast transmission of power between different external electrical devices. This requires that the power router has the function of plug-and-play that includes quickly identify and accurately control the external devices. Achieving the function requires effective coordination, which hinges on communication between power router and different devices from varying vendors. Therefore, a standardized modeling for devices connection is built in this article. Firstly, this paper analyses the physical structure of the power router and the operation architecture of the function. Then a communication model for fast connection is built based on the IEC61850 standard. The model includes not only conventional logic nodes, but also the specially designed logic nodes named external connection port logic device (DEPD) and external device port supervision (SEDP) to realize the connection and management of the external devices. Lastly, this model is tested for the device detection and information interaction. The test shows that the communication model helps the power router carry out unified management of the external devices.
