Module for Automatic Accounting of Consumed Cold and/or Hot Water Based on Wi-Fi Technology

This work is devoted to the solution of the task of data acquisition automation for accounting of consumed water. In this work, the structure of the accounting module is proposed, which would be an addition to most of the currently used water meters. The operation principle of the developed module is based on the use of modern Internet technologies, and its main functions are taking pictures of water meter readings and sending them to an online database. The software necessary to transmit, save and display meter readings was also developed. It includes: server software implemented on the basis of the ASP.NET Core framework and the non-relational database MongoDB; client software implemented using Razor Pages technology; embedded software of the module itself is implemented using the library ESPAsyncWebServer. For conducting experimental studies, a device was used, which includes: OV2640 camera, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module ESP32-S, LED and memory card. The conducted studies showed the workability and effectiveness of the proposed approach to automating data collection of water meters.
