Wideband Multi-Port Network Based on Printed-RGW for Millimeter-Wave Applications

A novel multi-port interferometer circuit using four rounded 90° couplers based on Printed Ridge Gap Waveguide (PRGW) technology is presented in this paper. The work is focused on designing the low-loss and wideband multi-port network to easily integrate with millimeter-wave (mm-wave) receiver antennas for 5G applications. The simulated results assessed with full-wave computer simulation technology (CST) show the presented multi-port design covers a wide frequency bandwidth of around 8 GHz at the center frequency of 28 GHz with excellent phase resolution at four output ports, which completely meets the needed features for future high-data-rate wireless communication systems.
