Novel Nine-Level Dual Boost Capacitor based Inverter with Single DC Source

In this study, a nine-level step-up capacitor-based inverter is proposed. This structure can produce a double voltage gain while only using one dc supply. Since the H-bridge is not there, the voltage stress on the switching devices is considerably reduced, as well as the peak inverse voltage among all switching devices is maintained within 2V

, which differentiates this kind of switched-capacitor converter from other similar devices. In contrast to this, the inverter that has been presented is able to integrate inductive load, and the self-balancing of the capacitor voltage can be accomplished without the need for any additional circuits. MATLAB/Simulink was used, in the end, to test both the steady-state and the transient response of the suggested inverter.
