Investigation Of Contingency Analysis With Proper Tuning Of Interline Power Flow Controller Using Python Tool

Transmission congestion issues have arisen because of the emergence of complicated power flows in transmission lines and of unscheduled power exchanges. By increasing the system load capacity, custom power devices like IPFC have helped alleviate congestion. IPFC requires optimal placement and tuning to realize its full potential. To alleviate transmission line congestion, this research suggests using a composite severity index when deciding where to deploy IPFC. In order to make the most of IPFCs, a multi-objective function is taken into account in Python (the Cuckoo Search algorithm) that aims to minimize active power loss, total voltage variations, and the security border with the fewest IPFCs possible. Using the IEEE-30 bus test system, we implement the proposed technique under varying loads and then present and analyze the results to establish the method's effectiveness at relieving congestion.
